the Nation Today Observes Historic Mujibnagar Day In A Befitting Manner As A Formal Swearing-in Ceremony Of The Government Of Bangladesh Was Held On This Day, On April 17 In 1971, In Meherpur District. On This Day In 1971, Mujibnagar Government Was Formed With Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman As Its President, Syed  Nazrul Islam As Acting President, Tajuddin Ahmed As The Prime Minister, Captain M Mansur Ali As Finance Minister, Hm  Quamruzzaman As Home Minister, And Khandaker Moshtaque Ahmed As  Foreign Minister. And Colonel M A G Osmani Was Made As Commander-in-chief Of Mukti Bahini. To Mark The Day President Md. Abdul Hamid And Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Issued Separate Messages.

prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Yesterday Handed Over Cheques Of Financial Assistance From Her Relief And Welfare Fund To The Families Of More 53 Persons Killed By Rana Plaza Collapse At Savar On The Outskirts Of The Capital, On April 24 Last Year. The 53 Persons Were Identified Through Dna Tests. The Prime Minister Has So Far Distributed Tk 22.11 Crore As Financial Assistance In Nine Phases To The Families Of 909 Victims Of The Rana Plaza Collapse.
